Dear Members,

The 2008 golf season is upon us. Let's all have a fun year. The annual membership fee will rise slightly, to compensate for increased operating cost.

Bev Haugo will again be our ProShop Manager. This is a demanding job; please extend your courtesy to Bev and the pro shop staff.

A new tile line was added to the fairway front of #6 green. This should help to resolve the water problem there. Last fall's tree planting was delayed due to inclement weather; this plan is still in the works.

The youth program held last year is schedule to continue in 2008, more details will be available when planning is complete.

Rice Lake will host the NIC boy's conference golf tournament and the Iowa High School Association sectional golf tournament this spring. The scheduled dates are May 5 and May 9, respectively.

Superintendent, Bob Berger, was named "Superintended of the Year" by the Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association at the 74th Annual Iowa Turfgrass Convention held in Ames on January 22, 2008, congratulations Bob!

The Board of Directors appreciates the hard work that superintendent Bob Berger and his staff do to keep our course in great shape. We also extend our appreciation to the many volunteers who plant and maintain the flowers around the course, help with tournaments and youth programs, along with the many other projects that are completed at the club each season.

REMINDER! This year's annual meeting will be held on November 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse.
